Introduction to Trades

The trade industries are the foundation of a community. Our homes, our schools and our businesses are all built by tradespeople.

Workbooks introduce young students to the world of trade careers. Lead your students in hands-on work through creative, meaningful projects that teach skills to take forward into high school and beyond. SkilledTradesBC has reviewed this program and gives it's stamp of approval as a resource to introduce elementary students to trade careers.

Did you know the BC Ministry of Education includes Entrepreneurship as a learning module in the ADST curriculum for grades 6 and 7?

The Elementary Woodshop introduces students to the world of entrepreneurship through optional lessons included with the Toy Factory, Logging Truck and Bird House kits. Students can build their projects for sale at a school sale, or they can hold a “mock sale”.  Each “company” in the classroom will design their own logo and poster for a sale, they will learn about business and about manufacturing.
